Sumner Redstone’s Ex-Girlfriend Could Lose Out on $70 Million

Breakups can be tough.

Last year, billionaire media mogul Sumner Redstone ended his relationship with now ex-girlfriend Manuela Herzer and now Herzer could lose out on roughly $70 million in cash and real estate the 92-year-old Redstone had once promised to leave her in his will. Now, multiple publications have reported that a new court document filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday reveals exactly what the 52-year-old Herzer Herzer stands to lose if her exclusion from the former CBS CBS and Viacom VIA chairman’s will holds up in court.

Herzer recently filed a lawsuit claiming that she should remain in Redstone’s will and be reinstated as his health care agent, while Redstone’s lawyers have argued that she was rightfully excluded from his estate-planning and is now motivated only be a desire to cash in on his eventual death.

Before he changed it, Redstone’s will had been written to state that Herzer should receive $50 million as well as a Los Angeles home valued at roughly $20 million, but the updated will instead dictates that those assets be given to charity, Variety reports.

As Fortune has reported, last week Redstone stepped down as executive chairman of both CBS and Viacom following months of rumors and speculation that the nonagenarian is mentally unfit to run a pair of multi-billion-dollar corporations. Redstone has been replaced at CBS by the network’s longtime CEO, Leslie Moonves, while Philippe Dauman has taken over at Viacom. However, as Fortune‘s Mathew Ingram pointed out last week, there could be further drama within Redstone’s media empire, as his daughter, Shari Redstone, is not happy with the succession plan at Viacom.
